Properties: Menthol is a white crystalline organic compound with a strong and cool scent. When inhaled, a cold sensation is felt on the mucous membranes of the nose and throat. Smells like peppermint, spearmint and other plants of the genus Menta. Its uses are to produce balsam, cough syrup, massage oil, itching antidote, various inhalation drugs or cosmetic products such as scented powder, scented soaps, lotions, shampoos and fragrance powders.
